Changing the hydraulic fluid filter

Written by Monarch Tractor | Sep 10, 2024 9:49:33 PM

The Monarch Tractor hydraulic fluid filter is located under the left rear tire, behind the left rear fender.

Before you begin:

Here’s what you’ll need to safely complete this task:

    • Protective gloves

    • Safety glasses

    • 24mm socket wrench

    • Replacement hydraulic fluid filter

Step 1: Remove the filter
  1. Place a container under the hydraulic fluid filter to catch drips.
  2. Use a 24mm socket wrench or wrench to loosen the cover of the hydraulic fluid filter.
USE A SOCKET WRENCH TO LOOSEN THE HYDRAULIC FLUID FILTER
  3. When the filter is loose, use your hand to gently finish unscrewing the filter and then remove it. Dispose properly of the used hydraulic fluid filter.

♻ Important: Dispose of waste properly

Polluting drains, water courses, and/or soil is illegal. Use authorized waste disposal facilities to dispose of used oil. For more information, contact your local authorized servicing dealer or the local agency for waste recycling.

Step 2: Replace filter
  1. Before installing the new filter, clean any break-in debris in the hydraulic fluid filter cover.
  2. Carefully line up the threads on the new hydraulic fluid filter, and slowly screw the filter into place. Do not over-tighten the filter; it should be hand tight.
  3. Once the hydraulic fluid filter has been replaced, dip the hydraulic reservoir dipstick and then shine a black light on the dipstick to check the level in the reservoir.
  4. If needed, add fluid to the reservoir.
