Just over 12 months ago, Monarch Tractor’s first customer, Constellation Brands, took ownership of six MK-V tractors. Since then, Monarch, a CES 2022 Innovation Award winner, has put more than 300 tractors into the hands of customers eager to use Monarch’s innovative AgTech and the gains that come with it. Monarch was able to accomplish scaling on a rapid timeline through its research and development with the help of the NVIDIA Jetson platform for robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) at the edge.
Edge computing processes on-board sensor data and runs AI in real time, automating processes and improving data analysis. NVIDIA Jetson comprises a complete embedded AI software stack for robotics, vision AI, and edge applications. For Monarch, having NVIDIA Jetson integrated in the MK-V meant the ability to more quickly develop and deploy sophisticated AgTech at an affordable cost while making it adaptable to farmers’ needs.
Recognizing that a tractor is the hub of most farm operations, Monarch harnessed the power of AI to transform the tractor into a powerful AgTech platform that can do the work of a traditional tractor, all while collecting and interpreting data for valuable insights and decision-making. Taking it even further, Monarch made the MK-V driver-optional to bring all the labor benefits that come with autonomy.
Fruit and vegetable farmers are eager to face the future with tools that help their farms be resilient, healthy, and profitable. The MK-V’s combination of electrification, automation, and data analysis is helping farmers reduce their carbon footprint, improve field safety, streamline operations, and boost their bottom line.
With NVIDIA Jetson, Monarch is continuing to rapidly scale its AgTech and put its sophisticated, transformative, AI-driven MK-V tractor into the hands of more farmers so they are prepared for tomorrow . . . today.
